Celebration Square

Located in downtown Mississauga, Celebration Square is an open-air public square, urban park and the City’s premier venue for outdoor events.

Celebration Square attracts over 750,000 visitors each year and is home to hundreds of free annual festivals and events.

Visitors can relax with a book, splash in the fountain in the summer or skate during the winter months, stay connected with free Wi-Fi, grab a bite to eat or enjoy a diverse mix of activities such as festivals, concerts, movies, fitness classes and more.

In 2007, the City broke ground to join the two previous squares in the area into one expansive space. Completed in 2011, Celebration Square is a multi-purpose, state-of-the-art outdoor venue with a covered main stage, amphitheatre, trellised market area, greenspace, turf grass lawn, large reflecting pool and fountain / ice rink in the winter, glass pavilion and terrace.

As a result of its transformative impact on public spaces in the downtown neighbourhood, the Square has been a recipient of the City’s prestigious urban design awards. Its dynamic line-up of events have helped with contributing to the transformation of the neighbourhood and downtown into a vibrant, diverse and unique cultural space.

The Square has also been recognized with the Rick Hansen Award for addressing or overcoming accessibility issues, having accessibility features, improving quality of life for people with disabilities and being an example of best practices for others.

Lakefront Promenade

Enjoy Lakefront Promenade’s waterfront pathway, sand beach and beach volleyball court. Bring the kids to the splash pad or playground. Boating amenities are available nearby at Lakefront Promenade Marina, the Mississauga Sailing Club, or Port Credit Yacht Club. The beach at Lakefront Promenade is unsupervised and open on a daily basis, pending water quality results

Art Gallery of Mississauga

The Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM) is a public, not-for-profit, art gallery that was founded in 1987, opening its doors in the new Mississauga Civic Centre that same year. The AGM presents a changing calendar of contemporary, thought-provoking, engaging and accessible exhibitions featuring regional, national and international artists. We thrive alongside long-time partners and welcome new collaborators to always be presenting and encouraging those artists that are established, new and upcoming.

The Riverwood Conservancy

Riverwood is an oasis of woodlands, meadows, ravines, and gardens that spans 150 acres alongside the Credit River in Mississauga. The Riverwood Conservancy is a volunteer- and member-based charity that protects and restores Riverwood, and connects people of all ages, abilities, and cultures to the wonders of nature through conservation, education, gardening, and volunteering.

The Food District

The Food District is a food experience like no other. It mixes fresh food offerings with the tradition and authenticity of merchant-style city markets. The Food District is a combination of your local baker, juicery and restaurants all rolled into one curated market. With more than 25 artisans, merchants and eateries offering dine-in experiences and to-go options, there is definitely something for everyone at The Food District. The District Kitchen – a culinary pop-up area – is located in the heart of the market and offers a variety of food pop-ups every week.
